1776: Washington crosses the Delaware

December 25

At about 10:00 p.m. Washington begins the crossing of the Delaware with his ragtag army of 2000 soldiers and attacks 1200 Hessian mercenaries at Trenton again assisted and rowed by General John Glover and his famous Marblehead Regiment, saving the army and the revolution for the second time. Afterwards Colonel Glover was promoted to General.
