
1931: USS Constitution visits Marblehead

USS Constitution visits Marblehead on an unscheduled stop in a national tour. Gloucester agreed to “relinquish” Consitution for two days in honor of the Town’s 1814 protection of the ship from British marauders, Tenedos and Endymion.
