The first mention of the name “Marblehead” in the Colonial records “July 2, 1633, James White is ffine xxxs for drunkeness by him comitted att Marblehead, on the Sabbath day. John Bennet is ffined xs for being drunke at Marblehead. Their true residency, however, was not established by the records.
